Migration from SMA to TMA for genuconnect
The approval for operation of the ECOS SystemManagementAppliance (SMA) for genuconnect will expire – after extension – on 08 August 2025. It will be replaced by the approval for the ECOS TrustManagementAppliance (TMA). A migration from SMA to TMA is therefore required.
If, in addition to issuing certificates for genuconnect, you also need to manage ECOS Secure Boot Sticks (SBS), please note that this remains possible only with an SMA, based on the terms of the approval.
Depending on your use case, some steps in the migration process may need to be coordinated with ECOS Technical Support. This assistance is covered by your existing UpToDate contract. No additional costs apply (with the exception of new smartcards or smartcard readers, if required).
