Home Offices / Subcontractors
External jobs, e.g. home offices are used more frequently. These workplaces allow the reduction of business costs and the integration into the company of remote staff or freelancers.
Such workplaces require special data protection and network security measures. This raises the following questions:
- How can the employees, easily and quickly, be securely integrated into the corporate network, possibly without investing in additional hardware (e.g. a company laptop)?
- Who will guarantee the security of the remote access to corporate network?
- Can the employee at the home office copy and store data at home?
In order to integrate new employees quickly and economically into the corporate network, the integration should not only be safe but also user friendly.
The ECOS-technology was developed especially for such requirements.
User Friendly
Using the ECOS solutions on any PC, including a home PC, employees can safely and easily access the corporate network. Thus the ECOS solutions increase the acceptance of home offices for own employees and freelancers.
Above all the following features speak for the use of ECOS USB solutions:
- No installation of software on the used computer.
- Reduced effort in introducing the ECOS-solutions compared to traditional VPN solutions. The employee can immediately start to work without any need to prepare the computer that is used to access.
- Due to the installation-free use of the ECOS-solutions on a home computer all private software can be still be used safely.
- No corporate data on the used access computer: this eliminates VPN typical process steps such as "clean" the computer after the end of the connection.
Secure
In general the ECOS solutions increase the security of the remote data access. Therefore, all security features are also used while integrating home offices.
Specifically, the data security is a feature of the ECOS solutions. The ECOS central management can determine how an employee may use the data.
The ECOS central administration can block or allow the storage of data on external media for individual employees; when necessary it can enable the use of external devices (e.g. digital cameras or video cameras and printers).
