ECOS Secure Boot Stick
If during the external access to company data, security and privacy are paramount, then the ECOS Secure Boot Stick is the only correct access solution for you. With inserted USB stick your home PC or external PC boots from a secure Linux environment. After successful authentication you have at your disposal the data and applications of your PC workstation in the familiar manner.
Data access in a secure environment
The ECOS Secure Boot Stick includes a hardened Linux operating system that is used to boot the connecting PC. The local Windows is not addressed in any way; any possibly existing viruses and Trojans are not activated. The use of the stick is absolutely installation-free and leaves no traces on the host PC. The stick is equipped with the necessary software for access to Citrix ®, Microsoft Terminal Server or Web applications. If for once a PC cannot boot from USB, alternatively a boot CD can be used.
Any Internet Access
The ECOS Secure Boot Sticks contains the necessary drivers for access over the local network, WLAN, UMTS or HotSpot.
Secure 2-factor authentication
The ECOS Secure Boot Stick serves as a 2-factor authentication. Following the principle of "ownership and knowledge," the user needs both his personal ECOS Secure Boot Stick and the associated password to authenticate him. There is a certificate on the stick that is released by a personal password. The password itself is never transmitted. The stick is copy-protected so that a stranger will not be able to make a duplicate of the key. As additional security, the stick is available in a version with integrated smartcard. Any additional protection e.g. through a onetime password is unnecessary.
Maximum safety - maximum protection
Using the ECOS Secure Boot Stick a strict separation is made between business data and private data. Without express release by the administrator, it is not possible for the user to copy data to a storage medium, print them or create screen shots.
Working in a secure environment prevents possible reading along screen displays by strangers, e.g. by a previously captured Trojan.
Through the integrated firewall, the ECOS Secure Boot stick can even be used in unsecure environments, such as WLAN, HotSpots, hotels, Internet cafes, or the home network of a home user.
